FR Protection Where It Matters—Comfort Where You Need It.

Hot days, long shifts, and station work don’t mean protection should take a back seat. The Workrite FR Cargo Shorts FP42 are built for those moments when turnout gear isn’t on—but safety still matters. This is firefighter clothing designed for comfort, mobility, and peace of mind.

Unlike cotton or poly/cotton shorts that can ignite or melt if things go sideways, these are made from 6 oz. Nomex® IIIA flame-resistant fabric. If your turnout gear gets compromised, these shorts won’t add to the problem. They’re UL certified to NFPA 1975, giving you trusted FR coverage for emergency services work environments.

The design is simple, smart, and durable. Triple-needle felled side seams stand up to daily wear, while the diamond crotch gusset gives you the freedom to move—bending, climbing, lifting—without binding or blowouts. The one-piece, fully finished waistband stays comfortable and secure through long days around the station.

Storage is practical and firefighter-approved. Two large cargo pockets with hook-and-loop flaps keep tools, gloves, or essentials locked down without bouncing or falling out. The metal shank button closure adds another layer of durability where it counts.

Best of all, they’re home washable, so keeping your protective workwear ready is easy—even in the middle of a busy rotation.

If you want firefighter gear that keeps you cool, comfortable, and protected when full pants aren’t the call, these FR cargo shorts are the right move.
